The Mediator maintains close relations with the Commissioner for Human Rights and his Office based in Strasbourg (east of France).
The Commissioner, one of whose missions is to facilitate the activities of national ombudsmen and other bodies responsible of Human Rights, has established cooperation with them to promote their development and strengthen their advocacy role. Actively involved in this network, composed of his peers and national, regional, local or thematic institutions, the Mediator participates in the exchange of experiences and relevant information, sharing of the best practices, notably through his actions at round tables or workshops organized by the Commissioner.
